Within 18 months of becoming a professional journalist he won awards in the Newcomer of the Year and Best Weekly Journalist categories for the North of England.
He has written for all the key sections of the media including news, business, sport and leisure and has worked with contacts ranging from Government ministers and business leaders to celebrities and reformed football hooligans.
An exemplary media track record, first class contacts and an ability to spot a potential news story ensured that his move into public relations was an immediate success.
His services were quickly secured by the likes of South Yorkshire Police, Sheffield City Council and the Creative Industries Development Agency and he has regularly been invited to pass on his expertise at PR advice clinics and workshops.

Partner Neil Anderson established himself as a key player in the PR world in the mid 1990s through the nationally successfully Dirty Stop Out's Guide - a campaign which helped revive Sheffield's ailing nightlife - and Grimebusters, regularly cited as reversing people's negative perception of Sheffield following its naming and shaming as the UK's Graffiti Capital.
He spent five years in local government managing the PR function for housing, education, planning, leisure, culture and social services.
Neil's move into private sector PR has already won him four top industry awards with his copywriting skills being ranked among the top ten in the UK.
He also benefits from being a trained journalist who has written for titles spanning The Independent to The Big Issue and also trained with the news teams of Yorkshire Television and Hallam FM radio.

A former business journalist and London-based PR consultant, Patricia Slatcher brings more than 20 years' experience in both fields to the company.
As a journalist, she has worked on local newspapers in the North East and Yorkshire, for key titles within Reed Business Publishing and written for national newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian and The Times.
Her PR work includes handling major London-based consumer brands and business clients, regularly gaining across the board positive media exposure via everything from the specialist trade press to national TV.
She has also worked in international PR in Dubai and other countries.
